well you could simply plug your laptop into the wall via an ethernet cable, or if you want wireless internet, all you need to do is purchase a wireless router. this one here would do what you need just fine…
You just have to look for the ethernet port, and then connect up an ethernet cable from your modem (which you already have) to your laptop. It should connect without you having to do anything else.
