This is my first digital camera. I chose Sony Alpha because my Minnolta lenses would fit this camera as well. I haven't been disappointed. The images are brilliant and the camera was easy to learn and use. I haven't had any problems. Unlike the majority, I have never had good luck with Nikon. Minolta was my best purchase before going with this Sony. I might should have waited about purchasing. I paid $1000. I've seen it for less in the past few months. Pro : Excellent detail in photos, easy to use Con : Haven't found any yet…price was a little high
GREAT CAMERA!! easy to use and understand, great pictures with and without Flash..Instructions are easy to understand even for a slow learner like me. You will love this camera…it is a joy to use. Pro : easy to learn Con : shop… prices vary wildly
i'm a sony fan….i owned the following cameras ((dsc-h1,h2,h5,f828))and used my friend's dsc-r1…all of them r really awesome…but i decided to leave the cyper shot area and go to something more professional and it was the slr ….but honestly i'm not satisfied with it's price and zoom … i know it's lens is rechangable but also it's costy and i need to think 1000 times before spending another 1000$ on lenses…. Pro : awesome photo quality, fully featured, easy to use, long life battery, really super steady shot, and just what i looked for. Con : heavy, pricy, not enough zooming..

I enjoy using the SLR options on this camera. Price was reasonable.
I use it daily and carry it with me everywhere. It's size is a little awkward, but I can't stand the picture quality on the smaller cameras.
Continous shoot mode is nice.
I have a 2gb memory card, holds more then enough pictures.
Battery life is good. I've never had it run out on my, although it has gone low from time to time.
I would recomend this camera to anyone looking for a decent SLR.
Pro : Great Pictures, nice depth of field, good features
Con : Large in size
