Perhaps your phone or your car keys come in first as to an object you pick up most in your life, but second may be in fact, your computer mouse. Unplug your mouse or take out the batteries. Take a minute and try to activate anything on your computer with out the mouse. It’s pretty difficult isn’t it? The invention of the <a href=http://www.cirque.com/uploads/products/computer_mouse.html>Computer Mouse</a> has been pretty revolutionary and so many computer mouse designs have been created and marketed as the next go-to gadget.
Computer Mouse Designs- The Good and the Bad
Sure the computer mouse function has stayed the same- direct access into a computer, but designs from one enormous button to teeny computer mice to large joy-stick like models have changed drastically. Some popular Computer mouse models:
• <a href=http://www.cirque.com/uploads/products/finger_mouse.html>Finger mouse</a>
• Joy Stick
• Rolling Ball- trackball mouse
• <a href=http://www.cirque.com/uploads/products/ergonomic_mouse.html>Ergonomic mouse</a>
• Touch pad
Will the computer mouse be around for another 40 years? Technology geeks think not. The computer mouse is ready for retirement and touch screens are taking over. If you use a Laptop with a track pad or a touch pad for a computer mouse pad, you will already have been practicing for the touch screen revolution.
No-doubt you have used a touch screen already, maybe in fact, several times today- be it at the bank atm, grocery store checkout or perhaps you work in an industry that uses touch screen technology for a point of service to enter in Information, like at a restaurant or auto shop. The iconic Apple iPhone, no doubt is the start of touch screen phenomenon, although touch screen technology has been around since the 60s. Now that more everyday objects are beginning to have touch screens, the cost of the technology is decreasing, allowing for more advances in touch screens. For example, the Microsoft touch screen coffee table “Surface”, allows people to grab and pull images, text and other functions has quickly become top buzz, if you have seen the most recent James Bond, then you will know what I am talking about.
Some people argue that the human hand is far too clumsy, and for some people, using touch technology is not working for them, they need more than a glass or plastic screen to push. So what’s next?
The Computer Mouse is “so last year,” and touch screens are becoming the norm. So what is next? Well, motion detection technology and even “thought provoked” motion sensors are the next big wave of possibilities for computer communication. As with all new technology, it will be costly at first and hard to find and then suddenly, everywhere. I wouldn’t recommend throwing away every computer mouse you own however- it’s like switching from rotary to wireless phones in the 90s- if the power ever went out, you had to find the plug in phone. Meaning- see what happens, you may not be able to afford the computer monitor that comes with the touch technology. You may have the old retired mouse for another 5- 10 years- which is archaic in technology terms.

Please Help!! Is it possible that I have OCPD or OCD?
Well I’ve heard a little bit about OCD and then I ran across things about OC-PD and that also sounds like me.. I’m thinking I might have a mild case of one of the two.
If this has anything to do with it I am a fourteen year old girl.
I can NOT have my room messy. Whenever I have friends over I have to warn them to keep all of there stuff on the left wall in the room. The same thing with my bathroom but it’s worse. My bedroom was so messy today I thought I was going to scream. And in my bathroom I almost started screaming because it was so messy. I also can’t sleep unless I clean my room first, because I’m afraid of waking up and it will be messy and I can’t find anything.
I can not STAND the sound that sprite makes.. You know, that popping sound inside the can? I have to put my sprite across the room so I can’t hear it.. Sometimes I even put it in the bathroom and close the door so I can’t hear it..
I constantly do little things like move stuff around over and over until it sits just right…
When I was younger I would just sit there and re arrange my shoes so that they were perfectly parallel to each other, and in class I would sit there and think about lining my shoes up and I would imagine trying to have them parallel but one kept being in front of the other so I would look down to make sure that my shoes were parallel.
I have to eat food one at a time.. Like at lunch I’ll have to eat my sandwich, then my chips, then my cookie, or whatever. I can’t eat a bite of sandwich, a chip, then more sandwich, I have to eat everything one at a time and I can’t drink any of my drink until the very end of my meal. At dinner, when I eat off of a plate (unlike at lunch, when I eat out of a paper bag) I sometimes find myself only eating clockwise around the plate.
I always feel like there’s dirt under my nails and crumbs or something on my sheets in my bed so I’ll sit there and brush my sheets off over and over.
If my bed is made, absolutely NO ONE except for me can touch it.. I will FREAK out. that’s probably what I’m worst about..
I also have to spell everything right.. but it’s not very bad.. But sometimes in books if there is a typo or something I’ll have to get a red pen and fix it before I can finish reading.
I’ve heard something about hoarding stuff,
I have a really hard time throwing things away, even if they don’t have sentimental value. Like I still have binders in my drawer from three years ago and I just can’t bring myself to throw them away.
I’ve heard this might have something to do with OCD:
Sometimes I’ll be sitting at the table and I’ll say to myself in my head: If someone coughs within the next forty seconds I’ll do my homework before I take a shower.
And this kind of goes with the sprite thing:
Sometimes I’ll be sitting there and I’ll hear my mom type on the computer and I have to tell her to "type and click more quietly" because I feel like I can’t think straight hearing the keyboard and the mouse.
I feel really bad about things like this because It hurts my mom’s feelings. That’s why I need to know If I have OCD Or not or something else so I can get medicine and be better.
Please don’t say anything mean because I’m only 14 and I really am concerned.
I would think so that you have OCD. I’m not a doctor so go see one so you know for sure

I think you should talk to a counselor at school about your concerns. What you describe is very different from what my children were like when they were teenagers.
If there is no counselor at school, approach a teacher you like. You could print out what you’ve written here and show it to her.
I wish you all the best.

Everyone has a little touch of OCD.
From the way you explain it, you do, in fact have a mild case of OCD. I don’t think you need any medication, unless you get so worried about something that you start to have panic attacks, or lets say….someone says, "haha you’re gonna throw up" and you completely freak out.
Because it’s personal, it’s up to you whether or not you should get medication, but i’d watch if it gets worse.
You could talk to your mom, or like, someone that you trust enough to help you out.
good luck :]

My sister has a bad case of OCD, where i had mentioned the throwing up thing, and there are many other cases >.<
Sounds like OCD. lol lol. I have the same problem although I’m not a clean freak. I repeat things loadsssss. Any way it annoys me so much.
I always have to do things like touch something 4 times or turn my computer on and off 4 times.
Try seeing a doctor please it can help so much!
Good Luck!!!!=]=]

I can relate. I used to do similar things when i was your age. The thing that helped me was doing things that were more important and keeping my mind off of all that ocd stuff. For example, start going to the mall with your friends, get a boyfriend, join a sports team or a debate club. Stuff like that. Community involvement, got hiking or camping. Get some dirt under your nails for real and then you’ll be over it. Hope this helps.. adios.
