I bought this computer brand new off of Ebay and received it a little over a week ago. This computer has to be the SLOWEST I have ever seen. I bought it thinking that the 64bit processor would be super fast and my worries was over. That DID NOT happen here. Right from boot up I noticed how slow and noisy the processor was. This troubled me because I heard good things about this particular pc but I now believe it was company representives making these claims.

Also had a TON of compatibility issues, especially with Webcams. I purchased a windows vista compatible (or so they say) Webcam yesterday and installed it and it would not work. I took it back to Walmart and bought a Creative Live Webcam and the webcam will work on Yahoo but the software had tons of compatiblity issues and would freeze as soon as I clicked the screen.

All in all this computer was really deceptive in its promises of speed and ease of use because I have had NOTHING but problems with it from the start. And unfortunately the seller does not accept any returns and does not give refunds so now I am stuck with this piece of cheap junk.

Money down the drain! If you are out to buy a pc I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT BUY THIS COMPUTER! I'm currently trying to sell it and get back some of the cash I wasted on this junk. I think I can sum this computer in 3 words.

    JUNK SLOW AVOID
    Pro : Big Harddrive, DVDRW
Con : LOW Memory, Terrible processing, Compatibility Issues, No Windows Software included

I have this model computer, and it is a great base to build on. It has expandability which I was looking for with ease of acces. I put in 4Gb of memory and a 1Gb Nvidia card and the system rocks for gaming and video playback. For the price it's a great deal being that you get a monitor with it and speakers that are USB powered. I like the AMD processors which in my opinion offer better gaming experience to me.
Pro : Good bargain on a base system with monitor
Con : Low memory provided on purchase.

I bought an AST180-ED380M, which seems very similar to this model. After shopping for a year, it was the best value I could find. It has worked flawlessly in the 18 months I have been using it.I don't find the CPU(s) esp. slow; it undoubtedly helps that I added 2GB of PC5300 memory ($55 total at Office Depot). I may install a graphics card.
I would rec Acer to a friend or relative looking for a bargain desktop.
Pro : quiet: fairly fast; CHEAP
Con : poor speakers (at least you get some)
